Robbing Us Blind: the Return of the Bush Gang and the Mugging of America
(Monroe, Maine: Common Courage Press, 2004)
Steve Brouwer is one of the nation's best front-line reporters from the ongoing class war. You won't find any academic evasions in this book. The operative terms are "robbery" and "piracy," and the message is, "Wake up America, and reclaim your country before it is too late!
— Barbara Ehrenreich, author of Nickel and Dimed

"Robbing Us Blind" is my most recent book, published in 2004. It was just one of many worthy titles that attacked the Bush administration for its criminal activities at home and abroad. I called them the 'Bush Gang' because George W., Dick Cheney and crew epitomize the right-wing, reactionary movement that has controlled the destiny of the United States ever since the 1980s. The Bush Gang and their associates have looted the pockets of working Americans and emptied the Treasury of the United States, and in the process they have created levels of economic inequality not seen since the era of the Robber Barons. In foreign affairs, the Bush Gang lied about their patriotic intentions in order to manufacture an unnecessary war that has cost thousands of lives while profiting their corporate friends.

Conquest and Capitalism: 1492-1992
(Carlisle: Big Picture Books, 1992)
“Conquest and Capitalism, 1492-1992 is an extraordinary achievement! I am so impressed with the richness of the data you’ve managed to present in a hundred pages, solid, readable, ingenious in its sweep across the centuries…a wonderful education. And a very useful bunch of sources.” -- Howard Zinn
“Steve Brouwer’s book is very valuable in that it shows the reader the other side of the story that has been kept out of the school system. The explicit details should concern anyone who is interested in the history of the Americas and our future. This book is the lost part of our education.” -- Camille Cunningham, Brooklyn Caribbean Beat, Prospect Heights High School, Brooklyn NY
Exporting the American Gospel: Global Christian Fundamentalism
-- co-authored with Susan D. Rose and Paul Gifford ( London, New York: Routledge, 1996)
“… the authors have taken on a formidable task and have made their case with welcome readability and an impressive grasp of both the religious and economic dimensions involved.” -- Harvey Cox, Harvard University
